Midnight all around us
wrapped in moonlight falling in
Time is of the essence
on it's presence we depend
Time my fickle friend
to grant a wish and take away
the passing of the seasons
and the daylight blue to gray
Distance playing parts
as hearts do dance to mingle mix
Longing true as penance due
time to comfort heal and fix
Moment caught in memory
casting shades on jaded heart

as the broken pieces part
Enraptured by it's power
meadow bright with calming wind

Resilient flame not meant to tame
but weathered tried and tempered,
showing worth in each day's berth
stay strong and never flicker.
Burning hot though days have caught
a cooling of sensation,
your shining burn could never turn
from scorching affirmation.
