Casting Shades On Jaded Heart

Midnight all around us
wrapped in moonlight falling in
Time is of the essence
on it's presence we depend
Time my fickle friend
to grant a wish and take away
the passing of the seasons
and the daylight blue to gray
Distance playing parts
as hearts do dance to mingle mix
Longing true as penance due
time to comfort heal and fix
Moment caught in memory
casting shades on jaded heart
meant to mend forever
as the broken pieces part
Enraptured by it's power
meadow bright with calming wind
Midnight all around us

On The Wings of Dreaming

Time our river flowing
diving deep to forming thought
sifting through our dreams it seems
redeemed and gently caught
Through the night
they too take flight
without our recollection
time our river flowing
knowing not it's new direction
On it's rapids crashing
smashing hope and birthing new
from the ash to dart and dash
cycle back to circle through
Here we grow unknowing
nothing more than everything
Importance on those waters gone
and hope to which it brings
Off into our dreaming
still we forge into the fight
to rage against the river
saving time as dreams take flight

Cascade

In the midst of morning falling
calling quick as stars are fading
The curtains call to one and all
whose hearts are serenading
Sleep must come to wrap us soft
in blankets of our choosing
as bodies twist and turn to yearn
for time is all we're losing
Gained in moments rapture
meant to capture love cascading
Lips that burn as sands do churn
through hourglass unfading
Tilt to turn it over
travel time relive each minute
thankful for the morning falling
stalling just to have you in it.
